Social Surveys

Understanding public attitudes, behaviours, and expectations is essential for developing effective policies, programmes, and initiatives in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing society.

Beacon’s Social Surveys help organisations gain meaningful insights into the views, experiences, and behaviours of diverse population groups. Through scientifically designed research methodologies, we capture public sentiment and social trends that enable organisations to make informed decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions.

Our studies can explore a wide range of topics, including public awareness, community needs, social attitudes, policy perceptions, behavioural intentions, and emerging societal issues.

Depending on the research objectives, surveys can be conducted among representative samples of the general population or targeted segments with specific characteristics or experiences.

By combining robust sampling methodologies, carefully designed questionnaires, and advanced analytical techniques, we ensure that findings are both reliable and actionable. Beyond reporting the data, we interpret results within the broader social and behavioural context to uncover the underlying drivers that shape public opinion and behaviour.

The result is deeper insight into the communities you serve, enabling more effective policymaking, programme development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.

CASE STUDY

Understanding Public Perceptions to Support Policy Development

The Challenge

Our client was exploring a new initiative that would impact a broad segment of the population. Before proceeding, the organisation wanted to understand public awareness, attitudes, concerns, and behavioural intentions relating to the proposed initiative.
Given the diversity of the target population, it was important to obtain reliable and representative feedback that reflected the perspectives of different demographic groups and stakeholder segments.

Our Approach

Beacon designed and implemented a large-scale social survey using a representative sampling framework. The study examined public awareness, perceptions, expectations, concerns, and willingness to support the proposed initiative.
Beyond measuring opinions, the survey explored the factors influencing public attitudes and identified demographic and behavioural differences across population segments. Advanced analysis was conducted to uncover the key drivers shaping public sentiment.

Outcome

The research provided the organisation with a comprehensive understanding of public perspectives and highlighted several areas where assumptions differed from actual public opinion. The findings identified opportunities to strengthen communications, address public concerns, and refine aspects of the proposed initiative.
Armed with evidence-based insights, the organisation was able to make more informed policy and programme decisions, ensuring that future initiatives were better aligned with the needs, expectations, and realities of the communities they sought to serve.
The project demonstrated the value of robust social research in supporting effective policymaking and enhancing public engagement.
